A nine-day streak of increases to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County ended today when it dropped one-tenth of a cent to $2.707.
The average price rose 7.4 cents during the streak, including four- tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The increases followed a 42-day streak of decreases that dropped the average price to its lowest amount since March 10.
The average price is 4.7 cents higher than one week ago but 12.8 cents less than one month ago and 94.3 cents lower than one year ago
The Orange County average price rose one-tenth of a cent today to $2.689. It has risen 11 times in 12 days, increasing 8.2 cents, including two- tenths of a cent on Thursday.
The Orange County average price is 4.7 cents higher than one week ago, but 12.8 cents less than one month ago and 90.6 cents lower than one year ago.
The increases in Orange County follow a 39-day streak of decreases that dropped the average price to its lowest amount since March 10.
