Disney Channel Star Debby Ryan Arrested for Drunken Driving Following Crash

Debby Ryan, star of the Disney Channel show “Jessie” was arrested in the Hollywood area for allegedly driving drunk after colliding with another car, the Los Angeles Times reported today.

Ryan, 22, who plays Jessie Prescott on a the Disney show — a nanny to a couple’s four adopted children — was driving near La Brea Avenue and 3rd Street just after 7 p.m. April 5 when she crashed into a Mercedes Benz, according to Los Angeles police.

Police conducted a field sobriety test and Ryan’s blood alcohol level allegedly tested at 0.11 percent which is above the legal limit, according to the Times.

A person in the other car was reportedly injured and Ryan was arrested and booked on suspicion of a DUI causing bodily injury, the newspaper reported.

While prosecutors have not filed a felony charge, the City Attorney’s office filed two misdemeanor charges against her.

Ryan posted $100,000 bail and was released on April 6.

She is scheduled to head to court on May 2 for her arraignment, the Times story said.
