Stars Align at Nickelodeon’s 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards Tonight

Adele, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lawrence, Taylor Swift, Chris Pratt, The Weeknd, Anna Kendrick, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth and Selena Gomez are among the nominees hoping to bring home prizes tonight at Nickelodeon’s 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards.

According to Nickelodeon, the nominees reflect the entertainment that kids see, play, listen to and read, from movies like “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Jurassic World” and “Pitch Perfect 2” to a host of television shows, music, gaming and books.

The ceremony at The Forum in Inglewood will be hosted by country music star Blake Shelton, a coach on NBC’s “The Voice.”

In television, last year’s favorite “Modern Family” and “The Big Bang Theory” both have four nominations. “Modern Family” has nods for Favorite Family TV Show, Rico Rodriguez is up for Favorite Male TV Star Family Show, and Sofia Vergara and Sarah Hyland will battle it out for Favorite Female TV Star in a Family Show.

“The Big Bang Theory” is in contention for Favorite Family TV Show, with Kaley Cuoco up for Favorite Female TV Star in a Family Show and Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki have nods for Favorite Male TV Star in a Family Show.

In the new Favorite Cooking Show category, “MasterChef Junior” and “Chopped Junior” are up against “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Cake Boss,” “Cake Wars” and “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

In the music categories, Adele will compete against Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran for Favorite Song of the Year, and DNCE, OMI, Silento, Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara are up for Favorite New Artist.

Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are all tied with three nominations each, while artists Drake, The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar follow closely behind with two.

In the movie categories, Jennifer Lawrence will face off against Anna Kendrick, Lily James, Daisy Ridley, Rebel Wilson and Scarlett Johansson for Favorite Movie Actress, while “Jurassic World,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2,” “Ant-Man,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Cinderella,” Daddy’s Home,” “Pitch Perfect 2” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” are in contention for Favorite Movie.
