Assemblymember Richard Bloom (D-Santa Monica) has announced that Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins has reappointed him as the Chair of the Budget Subcommittee No. 3 on Resources and Transportation– one of the key committees in the State Legislature with jurisdiction over sustainable development and greenhouse gas emissions reduction policies.  Assemblymember Bloom has served as Chair of the committee for the last two years.

“I look forward to continuing my service as Chair of Assembly Budget Subcommittee No. 3, a role that allows me to work directly on issues of importance to my district, such as easing traffic congestion and preserving wildlife habitat,” said Bloom. “I remain committed to promoting transit-oriented development, increasing access to public transportation, and developing alternative modes of transportation for our region and the state.”
As an extension of his role as Chair of Budget Subcommittee No. 3, Assemblymember Bloom will also serve on the Assembly Budget Committee and the Joint Legislative Budget Committee, which oversee the entire State budget. During his time working on these committees, Assemblymember Bloom has worked with his fellow committee members to produce a balanced, sensible budget for California.
In addition to his reappointment to Budget, Assemblymember Bloom is pleased to announce his membership in the following Assembly policy committees: Business and Professions; Higher Education; Transportation; and the Joint Committee on Arts.

Richard Bloom represents California’s 50th Assembly District, which comprises the communities of Agoura Hills, Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Hollywood, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Topanga, West Hollywood, and West Los Angeles.
