Mayor Eric Garcetti will be in Washington, D.C., tomorrow to hear the president deliver his State of the Union address and to attend the U.S. Conference of Mayors, which begins Wednesday.
Garcetti is attending President Barack Obama’s annual speech as the guest of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. He is also a featured speaker at the National Journal’s “The Next America: Population 2043” event on Tuesday.
While in the nation’s capital, Garcetti will meet with White House officials and members of Congress to talk about Los Angeles’s job creation and transportation funding needs.
The mayor has meetings scheduled with Office of Management and Budget Director Shaun Donovan, Counselor to the President John Podesta, White House National Economic Council Director Jeffrey Zients and Veterans Administration Secretary Robert McDonald.
He will also meet with the California congressional delegation, Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif, and Sen. Cory Booker. D-N.J.
