The Pacific Coast Highway was closed in both directions at Sunset Boulevard in the Pacific Palisades area due to an investigation of a suspicious package, according to the sheriff’s Malibu-Lost Hills Station.
Southbound traffic was backed up into Malibu.
The suspicious item was examined by a bomb squad and found to be an inactive grenade that posed no threat, according to authorities.
