7 Great Reasons to Visit NYC This Spring

Arguably the most famous destination in the world, New York City welcomes millions of people from all over the globe every year. Known for its iconic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, yellow taxis, and Times Square, it’s easy to see why so many people flock to NYC.

While many people enjoy New York City during the holiday season, others prefer to go when it’s a little warmer! If you resonate with the latter and want to book an exciting city getaway, here are some fantastic reasons why you should visit NYC this spring.

Museums

NYC is the largest city in the United States. With that in mind, you can expect the Big Apple to be home to some of the best museums on the planet. From the American Museum of Natural History to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, these establishments are great for history lovers where you can check out some of the most fascinating exhibitions.

Other recommended museums to visit in New York City include The Frick Collection, New York Hall of Science, and Brooklyn Museum. Whichever museum you head to, make sure you look at opening times and entry fees first.

Sports Games

Whether you’re a lover of baseball, basketball, or hockey, you can fulfill a life dream by seeing a sports game in New York City. If you visit the Big Apple in the spring, the temperatures won’t be as frosty, so you must head to the Yankee Stadium or Giants Stadium to see a sports game. For those who enjoy betting on sports, it’s finally doable in New York as of January 2022 too.

As you walk into a stadium and mingle with the fans, the atmosphere and experience will be like no other. No matter how long you’re in NYC for, there’s bound to be a sports game taking place that you can get tickets for and enjoy.

Shopping Galore

If you’re heading to NYC for a spot of shopping, you’ve come to the right place. As one of the major fashion cities on the globe, New York City boasts an array of shopping districts that are suited for every budget imaginable. Whether it’s the stores we know and love or high fashion boutiques, NYC truly has you covered.

When you land in NYC, you have to visit Fifth Avenue. This is known as the biggest shopping district in NYC for internationally acclaimed stores. For those really into fashion, you must head to the Garment District where you can take a stroll along the iconic Fashion Walk of Fame.

Landmarks

New York City is home to some of the most known landmarks in the world. When you think of NYC, the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty are sure to spring to mind first. While these historic landmarks look fantastic on photos and videos, there’s nothing that quite comes close to seeing them up close in person!

You can take an elevator to the top of the Empire State Building that enables you to look out at the NYC skyline. As long as you don’t have a fear of heights, this is a must-see when in the city. You can take a stroll through Times Square too and be amazed by all the LED screens.

Cuisine

One of the great things about New York City is its diversity. People from all four corners of the planet reside in NYC, so you can expect to taste some fantastic cuisine from every country you could possibly think of. NYC has a large variety of cafes, restaurants, and bars that serve some of the best food around.

If you’re a real foodie and like to try new dishes, you’re sure to find something to your liking in New York. For the fussy eaters, you’ll be happy to know all the popular food franchises can be found in the city too!

Broadway

For those who like a bit of razzle and dazzle and want to see a spectacle, look no further than NYC. The city is home to Broadway, which is home to a variety of theaters and high-end production shows. From Hamilton to Wicked, Lion King to Book of Mormon, no trip to NYC is complete without seeing a musical. Just make sure you snap your tickets up well in advance. This is because the best seats sell out quickly! Whatever musical you like most, it’ll likely be playing on Broadway this spring.

Public Parks

While it’s great to check out all the above in NYC, you may want to get outdoors and have some time away from the craziness of the city. Thankfully, New York City has an extensive list of public parks where you can get in touch with nature and have some much-needed peace and quiet.

Central Park is the biggest public park in New York City. Here you can find playgrounds, historical monuments, glorious landscapes, and even a zoo!

Whatever your age or how much time you have in the Big Apple, there are so many reasons why you should pay a visit to NYC this spring.
