A driver wanted for speeding led California Highway Patrol officers on a chase from the Inland Empire to Ventura County Saturday night before a spike strip disabled his car’s tires and he surrendered.
The chase began about 7:15 p.m. in the Inland Empire, making its way west on the Pomona (60) and Santa Monica (10) freeways, continuing north on Pacific Coast Highway and ending about 8:20 p.m. in Port Hueneme north of the Los Angeles-Ventura county line, according to the CHP.
The vehicle hit speeds of about 100 mph, according to KCAL9, which aired portions of the pursuit live and reported that the suspect was wanted for speeding.
