A motorist was arrested for carrying a loaded, concealed handgun and a second motorist was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana during an overnight sobriety/driver’s license checkpoint on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu that ended early today.
Also, a motorist was arrested for drunken driving and another motorist was arrested for illegal possession of narcotics during the checkpoint.
Deputies also arrested a suspect for refusing to comply with checkpoint procedures and another motorist was arrested for a $36,000 traffic warrant and sent to court, Ranes said.
Four motorists driving on a suspended or revoked license were arrested and sent to court, 13 unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court and four vehicles impounded for 30 days during the checkpoint, he said. Five vehicles were also stored for one day.
It began at 7 p.m. Friday and ended today at 3 a.m. at an undisclosed location on PCH, said Det. Mike Ranes of the sheriff’s Malibu/Lost Hills station.
