A collection of artists dedicated to painting scenic landscapes and seascapes of the Santa Monica Mountains’ coastal regions will have their works displayed through most of May at the Blue Seven Gallery in Santa Monica. The exhibition by Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore will run from May 3 through May 31.
The Allied Artists will be exhibiting original landscape and seascape paintings by nine of the group’s artist members at their Spring Invitational Exhibit at Blue Seven Gallery located at 3129 Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica. An opening reception for the show will be held on May 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; a closing reception is set for May 31, also from 6p.m. to 9 p.m.
Paintings in a variety of styles and mediums will be on display including oil, pastel, acrylic, and watercolor.
The nine artists being exhibited include Carole Garland, Donna Jean Goldstein, Helen Groenekamp, Dick Heimbold, Eul Hurley, Timothy Kitz, Marnie Piuze, Robert Scopinich, and Bruce Trentham.
There are more than 80 artist members of the Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore. For more than 15 years as an organized arts group, the Allied Artists have been painting on site “en plein air” at numerous locations throughout the Santa Mountain Recreation Area, depicting “the unique beauty that makes this region one of the most distinctive coastal locales in the world.
Throughout the year group members show their artwork in exhibitions hosted at park venues within the Santa Monica Mountain Recreation Area, as well as in private gallery settings.
In support of their mission the artists donate a portion of all sales to local environmental groups and agencies for the preservation of the Santa Monica Mountains.
