A DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint held Friday, April 4 on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu netted 20 arrests, including three suspected DUIs.
The checkpoint was conducted between 7 pm and 3 am by personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Malibu/Lost Hills Station.
The Sheriff’s Department reported the following statistics from the checkpoint:
— 1,330 vehicles through the checkpoint
— 1,150 drivers checked at the checkpoint
— 3 DUI alcohol suspected arrests
— 1 suspect was arrested for refusing to comply with checkpoint procedures
— 3 suspects were arrested for traffic warrants and sent to court
— 3 suspended / revoked drivers were arrested and sent to court
–10 unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court
— 1 vehicle was stored for one day
— 3 vehicles were impounded for 30 days
— 9 vehicles were released per checkpoint release procedures
