haleARTS S P A C E, Edgemar Center, 2443 Main Street in Santa Monica, presents their annual Valentine’s exhibition, †Love & Lust.†The group show will feature artists, Erin Hammond, Allison Hanley, Sarah Stone and Charles Swenson. It is a mix of figurative and abstract works. An artist’s reception will take place Friday, February 8th 5:00pm – 8:00pm and the show will run through February 20, 2013.

Works portraying the classic nude with high heeled boots will be featured as part of Charles Swenson’s “Nudes and Shoes†series. The nudes are not wearing the shoes, as one would expect. The shoes appear to be floating past the subject, or as Swenson describes…†tumbling against a beautiful sky and are joyous.â€
Swenson has been painting most of his life. Inspired by David Choe, Saber, and Shepard Fairey, Swenson has dedicated his life to art. An Emmy Award winner, he has also enjoyed a successful career as an animator for children’s programming such as the TV Series “Rugrats†and many more.
Swenson’s work is on exhibition at Barbara’s West at the Brewery, 620 Moulton Avenue #110, in downtown Los Angeles.
