L.A. Playwright Roy Battocchio and JAC Publishing Release Three New Plays
First is a new old-fashioned comedy where murder runs in the family … the Corelli Family to be exact! A sequel to Battocchio’s previously released “Thicker Than Water,†“Dead Wrong†is a full-length comedy revisits with Rose Corelli, who has seen to it that the ashes of her dearly departed family members have been lovingly scattered in the family vegetable garden behind the house. Nothing against cemeteries, but as she often says, ‘Nothing beats keeping it in the family.’
Battocchio’s second release is a short comedic play featuring senior citizens – “Going Gently.†In this touching piece, true love is hard to find – but when you find it, there’s no end to the romance! Leonard waits for his wife Bea in the park for an expected, yet unexpected picnic. (ISBN #1-60513-184-9; JAC #2012-0040.)
Finally, “What Are Friends For?†is the story of two old friends who bump into each other at the cemetery and discover there’s a lot going on in each others’ lives that they really weren’t aware of… but maybe “digging up” the past isn’t such a good idea after all. ISBN #1-60513-199-7; JAC #2013-0003.
Roy Battocchio is an active member of Theatre West which first produced “Thicker Than Water†in 2000. The play was presented again in 2004 as a staged reading at the Coronet Theatre starring Doris Roberts and was produced again at The Long Beach Playhouse that same year.
