On Thursday, May 24, 2012 starting at 7:30pm the American Cinematheque at the Aero Theatre, 1328 Montana Ave at 14th Street in Santa Monica, will screen the 1998 Paramount film, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN.
In the European theater of World War II, Army Captain John H. Miller (Tom Hanks) leads his men on a dangerous mission to retrieve a soldier whose brothers have all died in combat. Along the way, the men engage in some of the most harrowing and realistic battle sequences ever put on film, as well as some of the most heroic. An action movie with intelligence, heart, and stirring patriotism courtesy of director Steven Spielberg. [35mm]
