On Sunday, April 15, 2012 9:00am – 1:00pm, the City of Beverly Hills’ Public Works Department will celebrate Earth Day at the Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market (Civic Center Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210; free parking available in the Civic Center parking garage).
The City of Beverly Hills’ Earth Day celebration encourages citizens to “live lightly†on our planet with displays about water conservation and management, energy efficiency tips, recycling booths and more. In the past, the popular celebration has brought crowds of nearly 5,000 people.
There will be a mobile earthquake simulator with emergency kits and equipment available for purchase, appliance rebate information via the SoCal Edison Mobile Unit, free 20-pound bags of compost while supplies last and a used battery/printer cartridge drop-off center.
At a special children’s booth, kids will be invited to make pots out of newspaper and plant fava beans that they can take home and cultivate. Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the event. Of course, there will also be all the great vendors from the weekly Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market, who help us all live greener lives with their local produce and farm-to-table fare.
