All of us jump started our diet in January but now, three months later… well, let’s just say I think I already gave up my waistline for Lent. But, as this is the season of resurrection and hope, I went looking for some ways to salvage my overeating self and found Dr. Julie’s tips which I’ve listed below.
Tips for Keeping Weight off:
One of the easiest ways to keep weight off is to drink an 8oz glass of water before every meal. This way your body thinks its full and you are apt to eat less.
Vegetables are very important. Getting into a habit of eating your vegetables first at every meal can help trim the pounds as well.
Another trick is to eat appetizer servings for meals to keep meal portion size reasonable.
Exercise helps to curb cravings and will keep your meal portions under control. Before each meal, take a hearty 5-minute walk around the neighborhood.
Before you decide to have a second helping, make it a rule to wait 5 minutes before you get that extra serving. This way you can decide if you’re full or not.
Aim to be about 70-80% full at every meal, don’t eat to the point where you are 100% full or stuffed, you’ll have eaten too much at that point.
