The acclaimed Westside music series, Chamber Music Palisades, will continue its 15th consecutive season on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, with a program ranging from a trio by Ignace Pleyel, a star in the late 1780s, to the world premiere of a trio by Malibu’s glamorous violinist/composer, Maria Newman, a 21st Century star.
In addition to the Pleyel and Newman works, the program will include an unusual musical tribute to actress Jean Harlow by Charles Koechlin and will conclude with the celebrated Piano Trio in B Major by Johannes Brahms.
Guest artists joining CMP Co-Artistic Directors, flutist Susan Greenberg and pianist Delores Stevens, will be violinist Robert Gupta, cellist David Garrett, both members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and saxophonist Douglas Masek.
The concert will begin at 8:00pm in the sanctuary designed by Charles Moore at St. Matthew’s Parish in Pacific Palisades at 1031 Bienveneda Avenue.
Tickets at $30 will be available at the door and students are admitted free.
