Crime statistics provided by Lt. Phillip L. Enbody, Senior Lead Officer of the West Los Angeles Division, Brentwood area disclosed the following:
Electronic equipment and tools comprised the greater part of items burglarized from both homes, motor vehicles and construction sites during the four weeks ended Nov. 5th. Theft from motor vehicles occurred by smashed windows, pried doors and trunks and unlocked vehicles. Burglaries from homes occurred with smashed windows and doors. Bicycles were burglarized via smashed garage door windows. Vandalism consisted of graffiti, smashed windows and slashed bike tires.
There was only one robbery, an mp3 player which was taken with bodily force during the four weeks ending on Nov. 5th. There is only one recorded case of “battery†wherein the suspect punched his victim in the face. Oddly the suspect was dressed in a Bruce Lee costume. This occurred at 1:00 a.m. at 11800 Wilshire Blvd.
Residential Burglaries Tips:
Lock your doors, garage doors and windows. Check all doors and window locks to verify that they are working. Set your alarm. Check your house alarm regularly. Ensure the alarm has proper coverage. Check or install a house security camera system. Keep your property well-lit during the evening and early morning hours.

Following is a internal memo circulated by Captain Nathan of our West Los Angeles Division which illustrates the energy and dedication of our police force in their drive to protect our property in addition to taking criminals off the street.
Just wanted to send you some preliminary information on another great arrest from last night of two suspects involved in garage burglaries where high-end bicycles were taken.
WLA with the assistance of other LAPD entities (Deputy Chief McCarthy driven) have been vigorously pursuing the suspects whom we suspected of committing numerous garage burglaries in the area. The investigation was led by Det White and last night a LAPD resource was able to catch them in the act and arrest two suspects!
We are, of course, very excited when hard work, investigative strategy, and timing, result in taking criminals off the street. Detectives are currently conducting additional investigative work to determine prior victims, locating other property taken, and if any additional suspects, etc, were involved. Because the case is still on-going at this time we can’t provide names, or photos, or other specific details about the suspects or investigation. Hold off on calling the detectives today since they are really tied up.
