On July 21, 2011 the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA), the country’s premier professional association of zero waste experts will honor its first class of graduates in recycling and resource management at graduation ceremonies in Los Angeles (Orange County students were honored on July 14, 2011).
Students received 32 hours of intensive class sessions and completing dynamic, real world, student-led projects under the guidance of industry experts. These classes were hosted by Irvine Valley College’s ATEP campus in Tustin, and Santa Monica College.
Participating students worked with leading experts in the fields of recycling, organics and composting and, according to Judi Gregory, CRRA Certification Manager, “…many of them have already been successful at finding industry related jobs, but we have more work to do!”
The program is part of a $4.87M grant from the Department of Labor
