Sport enthusiasts, celebrities and philanthropists alike will face off against a common foe – cancer – while honoring boxing great Micky Ward, Jake LaMotta and Jackie Kallen at Sports L.A.’s “K.O. Cancer” extravaganza Wednesday, April 6, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Co-chaired by Stanley Black and Bob Barth, the evening promises a one-two punch of entertainment and fundraising action. Master of ceremonies Robert Shapiro, Esquire, will headline the evening, which include two heavyweight bouts and a matchup between Mario Lopez, host of television’s “Extra,” and Jimmy Lange, from “The Contender” along with fast-paced table games and sweepstakes drawings for luxury gifts and prizes.
“K.O. Cancer” benefit City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading research, treatment and education centers for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
