The daylong workshop will take place on January 29, 2011 9am-4pm at The First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica 1220 2nd Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
The following speakers will work with attendees to facilitate a new relationship with how we nourish our bodies, mind and spirit.
Rachel Ballon, Ph.D., MFT will help participants explore the stories we hold about ourselves and our bodies, and how we can literally rewrite those stories to right our lives.
Eva Nemeth, who holds a Masters degree in physical therapy and specializes in movement and exercise, will show participants how to develop a new relationship with our bodies and how to give them the care they deserve so they can serve us dependably in return.
Christiane Wolf, M.D., Ph.D. will teach us how mindfulness as a practice in everyday experience helps us to develop a more loving and supportive relationship with ourselves, starting with how we nourish ourselves with food.
Carolyn Braddock will illustrate the ways in which traumatic events manifest in the body and how to regain the voice that we have lost through sound and movement.
Beth Lewis, an innovative music educator, will guide us in the use of music to bring the sense of sacred back to our lives, to honor ourselves and our reason for being.
