Get your glide on this holiday season at the 13th Annual LA DOWNTOWN ON ICE outdoor skating rink where the coolest fun gets underway with the lowest admission price of just $6 (Skate rental $2). Open everyday November 18, 2010 through January 17, 2011 at Pershing Square (532 South Olive), the rink has been hailed as a favorite holiday destination.
With a decade of tradition for affordable family fun, festivities for FREE include a winter concert series with classic rock, swing salsa blues, and more, a Menorah Lighting Dec. 1st, a Winter Holiday Festival with snow and “make and take†holiday crafts and entertainment Dec. 11-12, championship skating exhibitions, community sing alongs, and more. There’s even “Mommie & Me Stroller Skate†sessions offered.
Sponsored by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, the facility is easily accessible by car, bus or Metro. A partnership with Metro and Metrolink allows riders to receive a $1 skating session discount by showing their Metro transit receipt/pass. An alliance with Montebello Bus lines features a $1 discount coupon available on buses. The convenient stop at Pershing Square Station makes getting there easy.
