About Los Angeles Music and Art School
LAMusArt was established in 1945 to provide quality and affordable arts instruction to youth regardless of age, ethnic origin, artistic aptitude or financial means. Our mission is to mentor and support youth in their academic and personal development through training in the arts, combining quality and affordable arts instruction with the fundamental principle that the arts are a vital part of living and an essential element in the enrichment of the human spirit. We offer educational programs that foster artistic expression and appreciation, literacy, discipline, teamwork, self-worth and lifelong learning, and provide constructive activities that divert at-risk youth from negative activities such as crime, violence, gangs and teen pregnancy. Over the past sixty-five years, we have provided our valuable educational activities to more than 200,000 students!

In its 14th year, Stars for the Arts has raised over $650,000 for student scholarships and programs at LAMusArt. Event proceeds will build the LAMusArt Scholarship Fund for low-income students to study for free or at greatly reduced fees and will also engage instructors of the highest quality so each student may succeed at his or her greatest potential.
