Let’s face it. We can’t all be as cool as Robert Downey Jr., or his ultra hip Bond-like character Tony Stark in Jon Favreau’s summer blockbuster “Iron Man 2,†but we can drink from the same water bottle.
If you happened to check out the second installment in the “Iron Man†series you may have noticed Tony Stark’s character drinking out of an ultra-hip, modern clear blue water bottle with a white, flip top.
The brand is KOR and their BPA-Free bottles come in four colors—blue, pink, green and orange. Each comes with several “stones†—paper discs emblazoned with mottos such as “Laugh Often,†“Better Me, Better World,†(the KOR slogan), “Never Settle,†(what I have in my bottle), and several blank discs which allow you to craft your own text. These stones fit seamlessly inside the lip of your bottle cap and provide a bit of inspiration each time you take a sip.
While it’s nice to personalize your water bottle, what’s really impressive is KOR’s “Thirst for Giving†program and how it relates to the KOR ONE program. Water advocacy being their mission, the company donates 1% of sales to select non-profits that focus on critical water related issues; hence the KOR ONE program, which links each KOR ONE color to a water-related cause then donates a portion from each purchase. Orchid pink represents the global water crisis, ice blue—ocean protection, sawgrass green—watershed protection and sunrise orange—container recycling.
