Singer Gal Costa, one of the true voices and visionaries of modern Brazilian music, concentrates on the seductive intimacy and intricacy of samba and bossa novas in an exquisite duet concert with acclaimed guitarist Oscar Castro-Neves.
Costa’s groundbreaking recordings launched Brazil’s heady Tropicalia movement in the late ‘60s; Songs by composers Caetano Veloso, Antonio Carlos Jobim and others were first made famous on Costa’s albums.
She’ll revisit some of those hits, as well as music from her newer albums, including “Bossa Tropical†and “Hoje,†both embraced by critics around the world.
