Trying to define or describe Pilobolus is a challenge for even the most articulate amongst us. Their ingenious performances combine many crafts to create provocative, awe inspiring works of great beauty.
The six dancers cum contortionists treated audiences to a dynamic and lyrical program of four dances on October 23rd, 24th and 25th. Audiences were left slack jawed at the beauty, athleticism, creativity and shear physical strength of the program which found many on their feeting cheering at the end of the night. Combining two newer with two older works, Pilobolus displayed the full range of their talents creating a provocative and joyous evening for all.
Performing their unique brand of dance since 1971, the 39 year-young group continues to push the boundaries of physical possibility and imagination creating performances which are a treat to all of the senses.
Pilobolus is a magical evening and one that Angelenos should avail themselves of the next time the troupe performs in Los Angeles or its environs.
