The Peninsula Beverly Hills unveiled an exclusive exhibit of sculptures by Sabin Howard, lauded by the New York Times as “a sculptor of immense talent.who has created some of the last decade’s most substantial Realist sculptures.”
A portion of the sales price of sculptures purchased during the four-month-long exhibit will be donated to the Andre Sobel River of Life Foundation, which offers financial assistance to needy single parents of terminally ill children. Since 2000, the Los Angeles based non-profit organization has provided more than $3.7 million in assistance to more than 9,200 families nationwide.
“We are proud that The Peninsula Beverly Hills can provide a magnificent backdrop for Sabin Howard’s sublime works of art,” said Offer Nissenbaum, Managing Director of The Peninsula Beverly Hills. “Especially because their sale will benefit such a worthy cause.”
The exhibit showcases seven of of Howard’s bronze and white hydrocol-plaster sculptures and busts which will be on display near the entrance to The Belvedere and on the patio of the hotel’s AAA 5-Diamond restaurant in Los Angeles.
To add to the ambiance of dining among the sculptures, The Belvedere will offer guests a special prix-fixe dinner menu of dishes inspired by the art through January 20, 2010 when the exhibit closes.
