Walking through the green door of Kathleen Isaksen’s Embrey Papers Stationery Studio is like being transported into a special place, with the perfect balance of relaxation, unique stationery and unique gift items only found there with a staff that delivers superb customer service.
“When I opened Embrey Papers in Brentwood fourteen years ago, I wanted to create a very comfortable, user-friendly environment,†Kathleen says. “I am fortunate to have a dedicated staff who really loves helping our customers, whether it’s a client buying a small gift or placing an order for hundreds of invitations. I think it’s one of the reasons that we have such loyal customers.â€
Another reason, she explains, is that the invitation process is quite long. “My staff and I develop lasting relationships with our clients. It’s so satisfying to see our customers coming back for other events, such as anniversaries, baby showers and birthdays.†She adds, “We have second generation clients and now we are working on the third generation.â€
When asked if the prevalence of e-mail in our lives has impacted the stationery business she replies with a smile, “I think it has made it better. People truly appreciate receiving a nice note in the mail. Even if it’s a thank you card, it’s like getting a gift.â€
Recently, Isaksen decided to simplify her life by consolidating Embrey’s two stores “under one roof†in her stationery studio. “Running such a large business required me to give an extraordinary amount of attention to management. I want to be more hands on, focus on my love of stationery and incorporate some of the gifts into the studio,†she says. “I also am a grandmother now, and I want more time to spend with my family.â€
Under Isaksen’s leadership Embrey Papers continues to offer the finest in stationery and gifts. Soon, customers will experience the debut of her new website and in- store customer events. So whether you are in need of stationery, a gift, or a “mini-vacation†Kathleen invites you to stop by.
