Brentwood residents are invited to the Fifth Annual Veterans Summer Celebration & Picnic on Saturday, Aug 1.
The event from 1 pm to 5 pm will be hosted by Vietnam Veterans of America, Region 9 (California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Hawaii, Guam, and the Philippines).
This is a very special occasion to bring veterans, their families, and the community to celebrate the nation’s freedom and those who have defended it.
While the event will honor all veterans, particularly World War II and Korean War veterans, this year organizers are especially honoring Vietnam War veterans and the 40th anniversary of the end of the war.
The featured guest speaker will be retired Colonel Ken Hughey, an 83-year-old Air Force career veteran and Ex-POW of the Vietnam War.
The event will be held on the “Grand Lawn” at Los Angeles VA Healthcare Center, 11301 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles.
