The West Los Angeles Children’s Choir will put on a family fun concert early next month with a variety of songs that promises to entertain and inspire the audience.

The event, generously hosted by Mount Olive Lutheran Church, will be held Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 4 pm at Mount Olive Church, which is located at 1343 Ocean Park Blvd., Santa Monica. Suggested tax deductable donation is $10 per person and proceeds will be used to fund the choir’s trip to Washington, D.C. this summer.

Choir director (Brentwood resident) Barbara Klaskin Silberg was honored when her group was invited to join choirs from each state in the nation to sing in Washington, D.C. as part of a celebration to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner.

The event, to be staged on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, will take place June 14 and will be filmed for national television.

The West Los Angeles Children’s Choir has been entertaining audiences since 1997. The group has appeared on The Tonight Show, Ellen DeGeneres and the Conan O’Brien show. They have filmed commercials for Walmart and Honda and, most recently have been heard on spots for Coca Cola and Netflix.

The West Los Angeles Children’s Choir has sung back-up for artists such as Pink and Frank Ocean. They also backed up Fun! on the 2012 song of the year “We are Young.”
