34 poets stood at the podium and shared their poetic vision of Life with an overflowing audience that filled the Community room at the Library.
Pat Pincus, a long-time board member of the Friends of KBBL, began The Summer Poetry Fest in 1987, and it has been a highlight of the Library’s programs ever since.
The Poetry Fest was renamed the Pat Pincus Poetry Fest in her honor after she passed away in 2008. Pat Pincus’ daughter, Corinne Schulman, was in the audience on Sunday and expressed how touched she was by the many tributes and remembrances the poets paid to her mother. Corinne’s husband, Jory Schulman, provided the musical ambiance with his classical guitar.
A lovely reception followed the readings giving poets and guests a chance to chat with and without pentameter and rhyme.
This inspiring program will be presented again in August 2011.
