This production reunites a trio of actors: Dan Cotreau, Barbara Gruen and Paul Webster, who worked with Fitzgerald on his play Moot and Whipple which had its world premiere at Santa Monica Playhouse in 2005, joined by actor Alex Hyde-White, for a staged reading of Fitzgerald’s latest work.
Backstage West said of Fitzgerald’s play Moot and whipple…“As powerfully stark as Mamet… as deep with meaning as Pinter.†Written & Directed by Hugh Fitzgerald. A Playwright and Actor from New Jersey, Fitzgerald is the author of ten full length plays and has had two one-acts, Jersey and Eloise, recently produced at the Gardner Stages in Los Angeles. A new full length play, The Cobbler’s Son, was a part of the new works festival at the Unknown Theatre.
Smith & Kraus published his work in a collection of Monologues for Women. Fitzgerald’s plays have also been produced with the Ensemble Studio Theatre NY and LA, Santa Monica Playhouse, and Off Hour Theatre Project in San Francisco. Produced by The Drama Project.
