4th Annual Walk for Warriors
Location: VA Campus, Brentwood
Time: 8 a.m.
The fourth annual Walk for Warriors at the West Los Angeles VA Campus in Brentwood will begin at 8 a.m. The 5-kilometer walk raises funds for New Directions for Veterans, which provides services to hundreds of homeless veterans and those at risk of homelessness, including transitional and permanent housing, individual and group therapy, help in finding jobs and legal assistance.
41st Annual Topanga Days Country Fair
Location: Topanga
Time: 9 a.m.
The 41st annual Topanga Days Country Fair continues with live music, local vendors, arts and crafts, and family activities.
A Memorial Day Parade will take place on Topanga Canyon Boulevard and feature County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky as the grand marshal.
Performing on the main stage are Venice and Royal Southern Brotherhood, among others.
Muscle Beach International Classic
Location: Venice Beach
Time: 10 a.m.
A bodybuilding and other contests will be held during the Muscle Beach International Classic, which starts at 10 a.m. at the Venice Beach Recreation Center. Other contests include bikini, figure, and physique.
Later in the afternoon, Grammy Award-winning rapper Nelly will be given the first-ever Muscle Beach Celebrity Fitness Award. The award presentation will follow the Parade of Athletes and the National Anthem.
The Salsa Session
Location: Grand Park, Downtown Los Angeles
Time: 2 p.m.
Salsa dancers will be able to take part in a free event hosted by Grant Park and the 16th annual International LA Salsa Fest.
“Grand Park’s Got Moves: The Salsa Session” will feature performances by Grammy Award-winning band Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Ricardo Lemvo and his band Makina Loca, Alien Ramirez, and MG Dance Team.
Screening of Harvey
Location: Aero Theatre, Santa Monica
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Harvey will be screened at the Aero Theatre on Monday evening. The cinema hall is located at 1328 Montana Avenue. American Cinematheque presents the screening.
