Saint John’s Health Center will present a free community forum “A Woman’s Health — Breast Health — What Every Woman Needs to Know†on Tuesday afternoon, October 16 2:00pm – 4:00pm and repeated on Wednesday evening, October 17 6:30pm – 8:30pm in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium at the Santa Monica Public Library 601 Santa Monica Blvd in Santa Monica.
Celebrate life and health this October during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Whether you are a breast cancer patient or survivor or have a family history of breast cancer, a friend with the disease or a colleague with breast cancer, this community program is for you.
A team of esteemed physicians from Saint John’s, including: Maureen Chung, MD, PhD, FACS, Medical Director of The Margie Petersen Breast Center; Maggie DiNome, MD, FACS, FSSO, Associate Director of The Margie Petersen Breast Center; and Jane Dascalos, MD, from the Leslie and Susan Gonda Breast Imaging Center at Saint John’s, will shed light on the myths and realities about breast health and cancer, discuss screening, wellness, lifestyle and prevention, and help you calculate the chance of having a genetic mutation known to increase risk of developing breast cancer.
