Bring the family, a picnic, blanket and beach chair, and enjoy a sampling of jazz each Sunday in August from 5-7pm. Get up and move to the music then cool down at the dessert trucks – Lake Street Creamery or A ROCKIN ICE Hawaiian Shave Ice.
The four concerts will present:
8/7 Theo Saunders & Intergeneration – High energy global rhythmic grooves and straight ahead swing.
8/14 The Tony Guerrero Quintet – Music from the Great American Songbook from the 1930s-60s. Open community dance jam led by local dance maker, Christine Suarez.
8/21 The Electones – Straight ahead jazz, blues, rhythm and soul. Santa Monica Museum of Art’s cultural bike tour, Cause for Creativity: Tour da Arts, makes a pit stop.
8/28 Lesa Terry & Friends: Eclectic mix of soulful sounds including blues, swing, bepop, Cuban, Brazilian, and Middle Eastern.
Admission is free as is parking which will be available in the Civic Center parking lot after 4:00pm. Complimentary bike valet will also be available.
