Based on estimates, “Jurassic World” has scored the second-best opening weekend of all time and the biggest opening in 2015, ahead of “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
The movie brought in an estimated 204-million-596- thousand-380 dollars for the weekend. Its projected opening day total for Friday was 82-point-eight million dollars. That total would give it the third biggest opening day ever, exceeded only by “Harry Potter and the Deathly
Hallows, Part Two” in 2011 and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” in May of this
year.
“Jurassic World” broke a number of June records, including biggest opening weekend, biggest opening day and all-time biggest June PG-13 opening weekend. “Spy” dropped to second place this weekend, with an estimated take of 16-point-six million dollars; and “San Andreas” was third, with an
estimated take of 11-point-zero-one million dollars. “Insidious Chapter 3” was fourth, and “Pitch Perfect 2” was fifth.
