This program offers a wide variety of music, including several works by Beethoven (a suite of short dances, and the Sextett, Op. 71), several works by Andrew Charlton (Ayre Conditioned, Pipe Dreams, and Blues in Retrospect) and two pieces by Peter Seibert (his arrangement of Brazil and Festival Music for Recorders).
The free concert takes place at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 22, at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church, 3590 Grand View Blvd. in Mar Vista. Donations are appreciated.
The Los Angeles Recorder Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Axworthy, is a 25-member ensemble which plays all the various sizes of recorder from the smallest (the 9-inch sopranino) to the largest (the 6 foot plus SubGreatBass).
