Fresh and utterly original newcomer comedian Luisa Omielan has had hugely popular sell-out shows at London’s prestigious Soho Theatre this year, resulting in four sell out runs and the announcement of a national tour.
Written and performed by London based stand-up comedian, improviser and actress Luisa Omielan, a diva in training. She’s got the sass; she’s got the earrings, now she’s ready for the lifestyle. She’s gone and trained at the best Improv schools in the world, hired a Mustang to gig around L.A., speed-dated in a wedding dress and fallen in love with every Mr. Unavailable she came across. And like Beyoncé, her mum still styles her clothes.
But approaching 30 and finding herself breaking up poo in the toilet because her little brother blocked it, she’s starting to wonder: ‘Does this ever happen to Beyoncé?!’ If she couldn’t dance or sing, but was still a diva, when life gave her lemons…†What Would Beyoncé Do?!â€
It’s hot, funny and fierce, overflowing with playfulness and infectious enthusiasm. The Guardian calls Luisa a ‘Megawatt Comedy Personality!’ Her stand-up is never far away from her bursting into song and dance, so you leave this show beaming, feeling empowered and ready to take on life. Come and watch it, because who runs the world? Girls. Produced by Luisa Omielan, in association with DAA Productions. Rated: R.
