Winning upwards of 50 awards (including Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, LA Weekly, Ovation, Garland and BEST PRODUCTION two years in a row), Rogue Machine announces the World Premiere staging of John Pollono’s new play (the playwright who brought you multi-award winning Small Engine Repair), Lost Girls.
When their seventeen-year-old daughter goes missing during a winter blizzard, former high school lovers are forced to confront their tragic history. A hard-hitting working class drama about people struggling to redefine family.
John Pollono (Playwright) created and starred in the multi-award winning Small Engine Repair (Best Production Garland, LA Weekly, LA Critic’s Circle, Ovations), which made its World Premiere at Rogue Machine. It opens Off-Broadway this fall at MCC Theatre.
“The struggle of America’s working class sometimes gets short shrift in pop culture–either represented as generic American Heroes, or as struggling simpletons who need to be saved. But the reality is much more interesting and it is through the specificity of portraying the working class as they really are, flawed, triumphant and human, that we can achieve something much more truthful and universal,” says John Pollono; Playwright
CAST includes Jerry Maguire (then child star) Jonathan Lipnicki along with award winning actors: Joshua Bitton, Peggy Dunne,Kirsten Kollender, Jennifer Pollono and Anna Theoni DiGiovanni
