The California State Assembly proclaims the third week of April each year as California native Plant week encourage its citizens to promote and appreciate our state’s native greenery.
This year the Santa Monica Mountains / Los Angeles Chapter of The California Native Plant Society will sponsor a plant flower show and symposium on April 20, 2013 9:00am-4:00pm at Sepulveda Garden Center, 16633 Magnolia Blvd. in Encino.
The day will include; a wildflower show, speakers, plant and book sale, children’s activity table, exhibits, and demonstrations. Admission is free. Bring your unknown native plants and experts will identify them. Educational displays from various agencies will be offered. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Cash and checks will be accepted.
Symposium will provide following speakers:
1) Kat High on Native American Land Management at 10:00AM
2) Lili Singer on Perfect Partners: Gardening with Naives and Edibles at 12:00 noon
3) Daniel Cooper on Urban Wildlands in Los Angeles at 2:00PM
