The American Heart Association invites Angelenos to the Los Angeles County Heart Walk at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Saturday, September 29, 2012.
The annual event, sponsored by Subway, Jenny Craig and Union Bank, was designed to build healthier lives by promoting healthy habits, such as walking, as a regular part of life. The goal is to raise $1.5 million for the fight against heart disease and stroke – the nation’s No. 1 and No. 4 killers.
Saturday’s activities will include a 5K walk/run, 1-mile survivor route, Kids Fun Zone, live entertainment, health expo, free blood pressure screening and CPR demonstration, Teaching Garden and giveaways.
There is no fee to participate. Walkers are eligible to receive a free Heart Walk t-shirt when they raise $100 or more.
