According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, musculoskeletal disorders requiring medical attention affect more than one in four Americans, accounting for more than half of all chronic conditions in people older than 50 years of age in developed countries.
By the year 2020 it is estimated that half of all Americans over 50 will have weak bones. Whether you are a weekend athlete, an Olympic medalist or somewhere in between, musculoskeletal injury may seriously disrupt your plans for tomorrow, the next day and often longer.
