It’s a spectacular all-day theatre camp where young people make friends, expand their imagination and have fun as they act, sing, dance, play theatre games, and work with costumes and make-up, to help create an awesome fully staged original musical production.
The ever popular Summer Theatre Camp Play Production Adventure at Santa Monica Playhouse, now celebrating its 52nd anniversary, offers two stimulating 3-week sessions for eager young thespians ages 7 to 14.
“Every child performs! Every child is featured! Every child is challenged to be the best they can be!†says theatre artist and Playhouse Director of Education Serena Dolinsky. “Young people explore all aspects of theatre, helping create a fabulous theatre piece they perform at the end of each session.â€
The internationally acclaimed Playhouse process combines the excitement of working as a team, the power of a world-renowned teaching theatre, and the joy and fulfillment of a stress-free, arts-oriented environment in which working actors share their love of the craft with young people in all stages of development. Classes meet Mon – Fri, 9 to 3 (Session I: June 25-July 13; Session II: July 23-Aug 10). After care available.
