The Norris Theatre comes alive to the sounds of one of the biggest pop artists of all time at a special return performance of “Rocketman: The Elton John Tribute,†on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 8:00pm In a show as extravagant as Sir Elton’s celebrated career, Scotsman Rus Anderson re-enacts an early Elton John concert, complete with exact replica costumes, down to the feather boas, platform shoes and crazy, oversized sunglasses. The show was brought back to the Norris Theatre by popular demand after a sellout performance in 2011.
While playing a baby grand piano, Rus Anderson authentically captures the iconic singer’s voice, looks and signature style as he reprises four decades of Elton John’s hit songs, from “Tiny Dancer†and “Your Song,†to “Crocodile Rock†and “I’m Still Standing,†accompanied by a six-piece band.
