M Herrington Gallery: Art & Friday Night Music

Patrons enjoying Art & Friday Night Music at M HerringtonFor those of you living in Los Angeles, looking for some art, music and culture, M Herrington is an eclectic new Pop Up gallery on Abbot Kinney that features stylish contemporary art, local musicians and a variety of events between now and June 30, 2012.

Curator and artist Mel Herrington has been able to bring a fine art aesthetic and marry it seamlessly to the cultural hip-ness that is uniquely ‘Abbot Kinney.’ Her work features mixed media paintings that oscillate between the representational and the abstract. Herrington says, “I wanted to offer the opportunity for experimentation and presentation of art in all disciplines while supporting women in art. This gallery sustains the emerging and established artist’s role in society providing a forum for critical dialogue with their audiences. IMelissa Herrington working in her studiot is a relationship cultivated through education and innovative programming and I’m pleased to be able to share this with Westsiders.â€
