Santa Monica artist Cassandra Tondro will be showing her recent eco-friendly paintings at The Rose Cafe in Venice.
Tondro uses leftover acrylic latex paint – better known as house paint – in her paintings, rescuing her paints from recycling centers in the Los Angeles area before it is sent to landfills. Tondro also combs the “mistint†shelves of home improvement stores for materials.
The show runs from March 8 – April 29, and the artist will be in the cafe on Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 31 from 2-3:30 pm to greet people with an interest in her work.
The Rose Cafe is located at 220 Rose Avenue, Venice, CA 90291. Hours are Mon.-Fri. 7am-5pm and Sat. and Sun. 8am-5pm.
