Please join Santa Monica’s six high-school Orchestras for a night of holiday music at their annual Winter concert. The program will include the music of Brahms, Schubert, Mendelssohn, and other holiday favorites.
The concert is open to the public and will take place December 13, 2011, at 7:00pm, in Barnum Hall on the Santa Monica High School Campus, 601 Pico Boulevard.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and are available at the door.
Named America’s top high school orchestra in 2005 by the American String Teachers Association, the Santa Monica High School Orchestra was the very first public high school orchestra invited to perform at Disney Hall as part of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s prestigious School Partners Program.
Earlier this month, forty-eight Samohi Orchestra students performed with the California Orchestra Directors Association Honor Orchestras. LA Phil’s violinist Guido Lammell calls the Santa Monica High School Orchestra “one of the finest school music programs I have ever witnessed.â€
