The New Short Fiction Series, LA’s longest running spoken word series, presents Telling Stories, as part of L.A. Stories, its unique mini-series of free performances celebrating Los Angeles fiction and the writers who changed the literary face of Southern California and beyond in celebration of Pacific Standard Time: Art and Culture in LA 1975-1980, presented by the City of Santa Monica’s Beach=Culture series at the Annenberg Community Beach House in cooperation with Doin’ It In Public: Feminism and Art at The Woman’s Building, an exhibition of Otis College of Art and Design.
Join us for a tribute to The Woman’s Building Writers Workshop featuring work by Bia Lowe, Terry Wolverton and workshop founder Deena Metzger, performed by Jesse Holcomb, Barbara Keegan and Sally Shore. The evening includes question and answer with the writers in a panel moderated by Cheryl Klein, director of Poets & Writers, Inc. West. This is a free event, but advance reservations are required.
