“I got my start at Santa Monica Playhouse!†says Kate Hudson.
Feel the excitement when your teens plunge into the specially-designed Santa Monica Playhouse summer World-of-Acting program, discovering their creativity as they study with theatre professionals in a supportive and dynamic atmosphere to create an original play based on the world they live in.
Through the internationally acclaimed Playhouse acting method, members learn to build a trusting ensemble and create truthful characterizations. Program focus includes voice and movement and culminates in a fully mounted stage production. Added bonuses include new found self-confidence, appreciation for the arts and increased responsibility and preparedness for the “real†world.
Limited class size means every student receives personal attention, developing the ability to excel in performance on any stage and in any artistic endeavor – theatre, dance, musical performance, television, film – from school productions to the Broadway stage. “I can’t put into words how grateful I am for everything you have taught me,†says 15-year-old Hamilton Music Academy actress Isa Ghaffari.
Playhouse alumni include Jason Ritter, Emily Deschanel, Jason Segel, Shana Feste, Rina Mimoun. Enrollment is now open for the summer session which meets Mondays through Fridays, 9am to 3pm, July 11-29. Contact the Playhouse for information and to find out if your teen is eligible.
