This is an enlightening, educational, experiential seminar and workshop in the company of wonderful people of like mind and spirit. The planned lectures are profoundly informational, stimulating, and interactive.
The Qigong movements are simple, easy to learn, and amazingly adaptable to suit everyones physical needs and abilities from limited mobility to super fit.
Yi Ren Qigong is a subtle energy-based practice for self-healing and self-care. The unique aspect of Yi Ren Qigong is the activation, cultivation, development, and circulation of Qi, the subtle energy at the core of Qigong practice. Qi is bio-energy in different subtle energy forms such as electricity or magnetic force or far-infrared radiation, etc.
Yi Ren Qigong consists primarily of internal Qi-energy activating and cultivating exercises, relaxation, attention, breathing exercises, guided imagery, mindfulness and meditative movement training, all pursued with a heightened sense of feeling, focus and awareness of Qi-energy.
The National institute of Health’s clinical trials suggest that Qigong may be an effective complementary therapy for individuals with type 2 diabetes. Anecdotal evidence has shown that Yi Ren Qigong is also effective in the treatment of other chronic health conditions.
About the workshop leader, Guan-Cheng Sun, PhD.
Dr. Sun is the founder of the Institute of Qigong & Internal Alternative Medicine. He earned his Ph.D. in molecular genetics from the Graduate University for Advanced Studies in Japan in 1993, and was awarded a fellowship from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. From 1994-1997 Dr. Sun conducted postdoctoral research in molecular endocrinology at the University of Washington. This research enriched his theory and practice of Qigong. His understanding of modern molecular genetics and scientific principles, as well as his experience with internal cultivation, allowed him to create a unique bridge between cultures.
Dr. Sun has spent over 30 years refining his skills and has developed a new system of Qigong called Yi Ren Qigong. He is currently engaged in mind-body medicine and energy medicine research at Bastyr University, Seattle, Washington.
